I just bought a papaya at the market and have been looking for something to make with it.
I used to go to this Thai restaurant in Park Slope called Mango that had this incredible green papaya salad, but then I found out that it has shrimp and fish sauce, OH NO!
But I just found a vegan papaya salad recipe on about.com. Looks easy enough to make, but it calls for unripened papaya. I have to admit, I don't have a clue whether the papaya I bought is ripe or not! Guess I'll find out...will post a follow up after I've made it.
